The ShawHankins Advantage Plan is offered through a company called NewBenefits. The cost of the plan is one flat fee that covers everyone in your household. It allows you to have 24/7 access to a licensed physician no matter if you are at home or away on vacation. You can talk with a nurse or doctor who can call in a prescription at a nearby pharmacy for simple things such as strep throat, urinary tract infection, sinus infection, etc. There is no copay – you only have to pay for your prescription. All calls do not warrant a prescription and depending on the case you may be directed to go to the nearest emergency room. The doctors cannot call in narcotics.
